Summer Sale -- Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Dakimakura pillow

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is one of the famous Japanese manga series. It is fully developed and picturized Coolkyoushinja. The series gained a lot of attention since it began featuring in the Monthly Action magazine of Futabasha, since May 2013. It is licensed to be published in America by Seven Seas Entertainment. Mitsuhiro Kimura started serialization of a spin-off manga series in December 2016. This comic was aired in Japan as a television series by Kyoto Animation between January to April 2017. The series revolves around an office worker named Kobayashi, who is also the protagonist of the show.

As Kobayashi gets ready to leave for her office, she is unexpectedly greeted by a dragon that is standing right outside her door. Upon seeing Kobayashi, the dragon transforms itself into a beautiful human girl with a maid outfit. After changing the disguise, the dragon introduces itself to Kobayashi as Tohru. Later we get to know about the Kobayashi’s drunken adventure the night before, when she met a dragon who claimed to have arrived from another planet.

Later that night, Kobayashi helped the dragon by removing a sacred sword from its back, which in turn garnered a lot of gratitude from the dragon. As the dragon claimed that it had no place to go, Kobayashi timidly offered the dragon to live with her in her house as her personal maid. The offer was gladly accepted by the dragon. As Kobayashi doesn’t recall most of the event of the night before, she is initially not sure if the dragon should be allowed in her house, but then a sense of guilt and a need of maid convinces her mind to accept the dragon to live in her house. The dragon proved to be very useful in doing all kinds of household chores, however, its unconventional methods of doing household chores often scared Kobayashi so much that it ended up attracting more trouble. Not only this, Tohru’s presence always attracted other mythical beings like gods, dragons etc to Kobayashi’s home.

Kobayashi is protagonist of the show. She is portrayed working for Jigokumeguri System Engineering Inc as a computer programmer. Kobayashi has hazel brown fish eyes with red hair. Many times she is shown to be tying her ponytail and adjusting her glasses. She has a flat chest, of which she’s is always frustrated about, she often complains about her flat chest when she sees the dragon’s ample busts. There was one episode where she got drunk and asks the dragon to bless her also with her ample busts. Her normal office attire includes a white button-up shirt, dark slacks, and a tie. When she is casually chilling in her home then she wears either a brown cardigan with a pale white shirt underneath or a sky blue button-up shirt, a yellow tee and a hoodie.

Before meeting the dragon, Kobayashi would always have a stoic expression clouded on her face. However, after meeting the dragon, she is more open to others and approachable. She is known to have a peaceful demeanor, and is regarded kind-hearted by her friends and colleagues. She tends to be reliable and level-headed when it comes to dealing with her mythical friends. Her personality changes a lot when she gets intoxicated, as she tends to become more aggressive and rowdy. Whenever Kobayashi gets intoxicated she makes sure that Tohru follows all her commands and tantrums.

When Tohru remains in body of a human, she has orange-red eyes with dilated pupils along with long blonde hair that have flaming orange tips. The reason she chose to transform into the maid outfit is because she saw the uniform in a cosplay when it was flying over the Kobayashi’s apartment for the first time. When she remains inside the comfort of Kobayashi’s apartment, she tends to have her tail out, and sometimes she has her wings out too. Outside the house, she tends to hide her wings and tail, however, she does not hide her horns.

Tohru’s tail is supposedly poisonous, but does not seem to affect either her or her other dragon’s friends.

She is now portrayed as cheerful person, however, she tends to hate people who are a rival love interest to Kobayashi. She is portrayed as a young female dragon that has been banished from her world due to the severe pranks that she pulled in her realm. As Kanna is too young compared to dragon standards, she goes to Oborozuka Elementary School as a student of third grade. She start viewing Kobayashi as a mother, as the series matures. Her tail is thin and has a bulb like ending and she bears feather like horns. She is also known to recharge her magical energy using electricity.

She has been portrayed as a powerful dragon of the Dragon Faction of Order, the faction which is the rival to the Chaos order, which Tohru belongs to. When Elma found that she could not go back to her homeworld, she changed her name to Elmo Joui and starts residing in human world. When she resides in a human body, she generally has short cut black hair that are dyed purple at the ends and a spiral running unicorn type horn. She can hide her horns easily when outside. Quetzalcoatl, also known as Lucoa in the series, is one of the former dragon goddesses who lost her divinity when she consumed some cursed liquor, which led her to a scandalous affair. In her original form, she is by far the largest dragons ever seen in the series. She takes a form of a huge dragon with mask-like skull and broad feathered wings.

Fafnir is also known as Takeshi Ooyama is one of the male dragon and a supporting character of the series. In its human form, Fafnir appears as a man wearing a complete butler attire and a coach cravat tie. He wears small glasses that rests on the bridge of his nose, his long straight hair is jet black in color and is set as a loose ponytail. He has red eyes that tend to change size depending on his rage. Generally, he has a calm and collected demeanor that reflects his gloomy and puzzled face. At the beginning of the series, Fafnir has been shown to hate humans for everything that they stood for, however, as the series matures we can see that he finally starts liking the human race. This is also catalyzed when he undertakes a sensei-student style relationship with Makoto Takiya. His hatred for humans eventually turns into an indifference. He doesn’t seem to like spicy foods. Due to his reserved nature, he is completely addicted to video games and easily takes on various other interests of Otaku. He is shown to be hardworking and careful when it comes to his passions, as he has been shown to be playing video games all night long.

Fafnir has been known for his ability to create very strong curses. The incantations that he writes for the curses are so potent that even a human that has no magical abilities can also curse anyone with it. Just like other dragons, Fafnir’s physical strength is incomparable to humans. However, it is believed that he might be more powerful than Tohru.

Ilulu is a dragon of the same faction as that of Tohru (Dragons’ Chaos Faction). When Ilulu was young, she used to love humans and used to often play with them. Everything changed when the parents of Ilulu were killed by humans during a surprise attack. After the attack, all of the dragons convinced Ilulu that humans are up to no good. This made her hate humans very much and she stopped playing with humans. Her initial motive when coming to human world was to destroy Tohru and trying to drive Tohru away from Kobayashi.

After an amazing change of heart, she starts living at Kobayashi’s place, thus making her the third dragon resident. When she resides in her human body, she appears in a form of a woman of small build. She has been shown to wear a black coat enclosed with fur. She has huge breasts and even in her human-like form, she tends to have dragon-like arms. When she was first portrayed in the comic, she was shown as a war-mongering, psychotic force with immense hatred for humanity. She was initially disgusted with the fact that dragon’s like Tohru can coexist with a lowly species like humans. This got her to believe that Kobayashi must be extremely in love with Tohru. Her staunch belief that humans are not trustworthy could be observed from the fact that when Kobayashi risked her life to save her, then she started believing that she must be a trickster. Once she starts to redeem herself, Ilulu has a lot of problems adjusting to the human society. This is why Kobayashi often asks Tohru to babysit Ilulu. Even though she is thousands of years old, Ilulu behaves like a child, similar to Kanna.
